Information Service AD will hold a public demonstration on April 7 of the system for computerized processing of voting data for the April 19 parliamentary elections, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Saturday.
Later on Tuesday, the CEC will also provide an opportunity for a public inspection of the source code of the systems used by the Regional Election Commissions (RECs) and the CEC for data processing.
Both events will be held in the National Assembly building. Attendance will be limited to one authorized representative of each party, coalition, and initiative committee registered for the elections, as well as registered observers and media representatives.
On April 3, caretaker Minister of Electronic Governance George Sharkov said that the hash code to be printed on every ballot for the snap parliamentary elections, has been generated. Sharkov explained that the code is printed upon the start-up of each voting machine and on every ballot, allowing for verification. This ensures that the code remains identical from its trusted generation, through installation, to the operation of the machines, he said.
