Progressive Bulgaria leader Rumen Radev said on Friday that “it is absolutely impossible” for his political force to form a coalition with Movement for Rights and Freedoms leader Delyan Peevski and GERB leader Boyko Borissov. Radev spoke at a meeting with citizens in Zlatograd (Southern Bulgaria) as part of the coalition’s election campaign.

“In a State, the Government must bear responsibility, especially when it has trampled on the public interest,” Radev said, arguing that parliamentary elections give citizens the opportunity to punish those parties and politicians “who, over the heads of the people and without any readiness, introduced the euro, which has led to a serious rise in prices.”

He also emphasized the coalition’s two other main goals – removing from political power the feudal figures and oligarchs who plunder the people and maintain their power only through shameful and unsightly alliances.

Radev said that Bulgaria cannot develop as a European democratic state if feudalism exists in the country. He called for mass participation by citizens in the elections so that Progressive Bulgaria’s victory can be decisive and allow it to form a governing majority.

The coalition's leader also highlighted the need for more investment in the region and stated that the coalition will work towards a fundamental change in the business climate in the country.

“There must be truly meaningful, well-paid jobs so that young people do not leave. They want decent work, decent pay, and this is indeed an important goal that we are working towards,” Radev added.
