BTA will publish the names of the top-of-the-list candidates of every party/coalition for all constituencies for the April 19 parliamentary elections. The information about the candidates is provided by the respective political entity, the candidates themselves and other official sources.
Denitsa Sacheva is the top-of-the-list candidate of GERB-UDF for Dobrich's 8th multi-member constituency, according to a decision of the Constituency Election Commission.
Denitsa Sacheva is chair of the Committee on Labour, Social and Demographic Policy in the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and deputy chair of the GERB parliamentary group, the local coalition press service told BTA.
She has been a member of the 46th, 47th, 48th, 49th, 50th and 51st National Assemblies. Denitsa Sacheva is a member of the Committee on Foreign Policy. She heads the Bulgarian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Between 2019 and 2021 she was minister of labour and social policy. She has also served as deputy minister of education and science.
She holds a master's degree in Public Relations from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, and a master's degree in Health Management from Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University in Burgas. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Social Pedagogy from South-West University Neofit Rilski in Blagoevgrad.
She began her professional career at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, where she held various positions, from specialist to sector head at the National Centre for Social Assistance. In 1999 she became director of the International Cooperation, European Integration and Projects Directorate at the National Health Insurance Fund. Between 1999 and 2001 she was chief of staff to the minister of health, responsible for relations with international institutions, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Commission. From 2016 to April 2017 she was deputy minister of labour and social policy. She speaks English. Sacheva is GERB's regional coordinator for Dobrich.
