site.btaSofia Regional Governor Todeva Opens Tender for Election Voting Screens

Sofia Regional Governor Vyara Todeva launched a public procurement procedure for the production and delivery of voting screens for paper ballots for the April 19 elections, the regional administration said on Sunday.

The contract has an estimated value of EUR 77,400 excluding VAT and covers the delivery of 1,800 voting screens meeting Central Election Commission requirements.

Given the exceptionally short timeframe in which the necessary screens must be secured, the procedure is being conducted under Paragraph 3, Item 1 of the supplementary provisions of the Election Code. The deadline for submitting bids is March 25, and the final delivery deadline for the screens is April 14.

By opening the public tender, Todeva aims to encourage competition and create equal conditions and transparency, the regional administration said, calling on businesses to take an active part in the procedure.

On March 19, Todeva initiated a working meeting with the institutions involved in organizing and holding the April 19 parliamentary elections, in line with her powers, the regional administration said at the time. It said the District Election Commission will receive election papers and materials from the Section Election Commissions at Asics Arena for the 24th District Election Commission and at Arena 8888 Sofia for the 23rd and 25th District Election Commissions.

By order of the regional governor, the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior and the Sofia Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection have been tasked with inspecting the halls. A contract is yet to be signed for a site for the receipt, storage and distribution of ballot papers and election documents, and an order is yet to be issued for its designation and inspection.

An order has also been issued instructing the Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior to help maintain public order and security in connection with the organizational and technical preparations for the elections, including on polling day until the end of voting. The Sofia Metropolitan Directorate of Interior is also to prepare the routes for transporting the election papers.
