BSP will take part in the next parliament as a significant and constructive political force, BSP leader Krum Zarkov told reporters on Saturday. He was in the city for its official holiday, the Kyustendil Spring Festival.
“These are not expectations, these are convictions, and everything is in our hands,” Zarkov said.
“We are starting the election campaign in good spirits and with a strong candidate list so that we can do across Bulgaria what we have set out to do, to make our society and nation fairer and more successful,” Zarkov said, adding that he had no doubts about success but was under no illusions. He said much work lay ahead.
“We will run a campaign in which we will try to talk about policy and avoid the mistakes made over the past five years, when politicians hide from talks beforehand only to send us to new elections afterwards. Bulgaria must get out of the cycle of constant elections. We need stable, competent and above all honest government,” Zarkov said. He wished the people of Kyustendil to remain as they are because they light up the whole country with their spirit, and said this day was proof of that.
