Caretaker Justice Minister Andrey Yankulov is establishing a working group within the ministry to review and conduct a legal analysis of documents, submitted by the  BOEC Association, the ministry said.

Until now, no state institution had been willing to receive these documents, which could help clarify the circumstances surrounding a criminal network known as "The Eight Dwarfs", the statement said. All documents have been properly catalogued, scanned, and are stored at the Ministry of Justice, available to state authorities for examination within their competence.

The ministry explained that the BOEC report contains allegations of “criminal offences of a general nature - corruption, abuse of power, crimes against justice,” among others, involving high-ranking officials, as well as “data on disciplinary violations and actions undermining the authority of the judiciary committed by magistrates.”

As of Wednesday, Yankulov is forwarding the BOEC report, together with the scanned documents, to the Ministry of Interior for inspection and for taking appropriate legal measures if violations are found. He is also sending the papers to the Chair of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Cassation to assess whether further action should be taken under the mechanism for the independent investigation of the Prosecutor General.

“Information from the investigation into "The Eight Dwarfs" is being selectively released by the prosecution,” Yankulov said last week. “The Eight Dwarfs network was a serious tool for influencing the justice system, and unraveling it is of great importance,” he added at the time.
