site.btaUPDATED Vazrazhdane Condemns Israeli Attack on Iran
The Vazrazhdane party has condemned Israel's attack on Iran. "Yet again, the planet is facing the threat of a world war. The reason for this is the terrorist attack by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's regime against Iran," Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said in a position published on Facebook on Saturday.
The statement says that Vazrazhdane "insists on the immediate condemnation of the actions of Netanyahu's criminal regime and, if it turns out that the US military aircraft at Sofia Airport have any connection whatsoever to the war in Iran, they must be immediately withdrawn from our territory."
"This war is not ours, Iran is not our enemy, peace must be supported," the party's position states.
Vazrazhdane also called on the other political parties in Bulgaria - all participants in the April 19 elections - to clearly and unequivocally state their positions.
In a press release sent to BTA later on Saturday, Vazrazhdane said that political parties' representatives were not invited to participate in the Security Council, convened by caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gurov, taking place at 1 p.m. on Saturday. According to Vazrazhdane, that is "unacceptable" and the party will have representatives present in front of the Council of Ministers, when the Council takes place, and will insist on participating in the meeting.
