The Council of Ministers adopted a National Prevention and Awareness Programme for the 2026-2030 period on Wednesday. It was developed as a tool for the practical implementation of state policy in the field of youth and prevention and is in line with the objectives and priorities of the National Youth Strategy (2021-2030), the Government Information Service reported.
The Programme aims to reduce risky behavior and aggression and their negative consequences among young people by applying a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable approach to prevention, which would shape socially responsible behaviour and promote a healthy lifestyle. The implementation of activities under the Programme targets young people between the ages of 15 and 29.
The Government's vision is to develop and implement a unified, consistent, and sustainable youth policy in Bulgaria, based on a multisectoral approach and cooperation and joint management with young people at the national, regional, district, and municipal levels.
