The National Assembly is currently the biggest pre-election platform, outgoing Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told journalists here on Friday. He was commenting on statements made in the plenary hall earlier in the day that "instead of attending Question Time, the Prime Minister is pretending to be the National Construction Control Directorate in Veliko Tarnovo."

In Zhelyazkov's words, January 16 marks one year since the government took office, and although the ministers are performing their duties until the appointment of a caretaker cabinet, they must work as the executive branch and not become actors on the election stage.

In Veliko Tarnovo, Zhelyazkov and outgoing Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov checked the progress of the programme for the renovation of multi-family residential buildings.
