The annual meeting of Romania's heads of diplomatic missions is taking place in Bucharest on Monday and Tuesday. The event is organized by Romania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministry said in a press release also circulated to BTA.
The meeting, chaired by Foreign Minister Oana Toiu, brings together the heads of Romania’s diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among other high-ranking Romanian officials. The gathering is hosted in the Parliament building.
During the forum, President Nicusor Dan, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, leaders of the governing coalition, and MPs are expected to hold discussions with the heads of Romania’s diplomatic and consular missions.
The working sessions will focus on the new regional strategic reality, emphasizing the strengthening of Euro-Atlantic partnerships and adapting to geopolitical changes in neighbouring countries. Key agenda items include economic diplomacy and Romania’s accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
High-level international figures will also contribute to the discussions. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, NATO Deputy Secretary-General Radmila Sekerinska, and Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will address the event via videoconference.
Among the special guests in attendance are Moldova’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi and European Commission Executive Vice-President Roxana Manzatu.
Additionally, Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen will deliver a video message to the participants.
