Traffic is heavy at the Malko Tarnovo checkpoint on Bulgaria’s border with Turkiye for passenger cars travelling in both directions, the Border Police said on their website late Friday afternoon.
A temporary traffic arrangement has been introduced on the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge border checkpoint with Romania near Ruse due to ongoing repair work. Traffic there is currently limited to a single lane. All other checkpoints along the Romanian border are operating normally.
On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, reconstruction work continues at the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint, resulting in restricted traffic lanes. Traffic at the other border crossings with North Macedonia remains normal.
Traffic is also normal at all checkpoints on the border with Serbia.
The Border Police recalled that construction work is underway on the Greek side of the Rudozem - Xanthi checkpoint. Greek authorities have placed signs indicating that the area is a construction site, restricting access to outsiders. Only passenger cars and minibuses of up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.
