Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan here on Tuesday, the Council of Ministers reported on its Facebook page. Denkov and Fidan reinforced the good political dialogue between their two countries.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister and the Turkish Foreign Minister said that the excellent cooperation should continue in the area of security in the region. Joint actions in the fight against illegal migration and fruitful contacts between the responsible institutions of the two countries are key not only for South-Eastern Europe, but for the whole of Europe, the ministers agreed.

The meeting highlighted Bulgaria and Turkiye's desire to deepen their ties in the areas of trade, transport, energy, innovation and culture.

Hakan Fidan is in Bulgaria at the invitation Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel. Earlier Tuesday, Fidan met with Gabriel as well as with President Rumen Radev
