A conference on NATO's role in addressing challenges in the dynamic security environment will be held at the Central Military Club in the capital, the organizers from Sofia Security Forum said.
Young people from Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia will participate in the conference, which includes lectures and discussions on security and international relations, with experts, diplomats, and representatives of Bulgarian state institutions.
Europe, as well as the Western Balkans region, faces numerous security and defence risks, which require the joint efforts of all democratic states to address. The commitment and unity of NATO and the EU is key. Bulgaria and North Macedonia, as NATO member countries, have guaranteed the fulfilment of the mutual defence clause under Article 5 of the Washington Treaty. This implies the development of good bilateral relations and a high degree of trust, the Sofia Security Forum said.
Young people from Bulgaria and North Macedonia will discuss what are the security risks and challenges and what NATO, the EU and the individual countries should do to deal with them.
