The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) will not nominate a candidate for the presidential elections in Turkiye, party co-chairman Pervin Buldan said Wednesday.

Turkiye will hold presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14.

It is believed that the HDP could play a key role in the presidential election if it supports the opposition bloc's candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

On Wednesday, Turkiye's Constitutional Court denied the PDP a postponement of its closure hearing until after the election.
