Foreign Ministry Issues Statement on Latest Attack on Bulgarian Cultural and Information Centre in Skopje

In the night of 15-16 March 2023, unknown persons broke into the building of the Cultural Information Centre of Bulgaria in Skopje, North Macedonia. The incident caused material damage to the rear wall of the room. Regardless of the motivation of the perpetrators, the crime is an attack against the Bulgarian State, reads a statement issued Thursday by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The text recalls that the bilateral agreement between the governments of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia in 2003 to open cultural and information centres in Skopje and Sofia respectively committed the two countries to ensure the normal functioning of the cultural information centres in the two capitals.
