site.btaDanube Level Rises Along Almost Entire Bulgarian Stretch

The level of the Danube has risen along almost the entire Bulgarian stretch of the river over the past 24 hours, the Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River in Ruse said on Thursday.

The largest increase, of seven centimetres, was recorded at Lom. The river rose by four centimetres at Vidin, three centimetres at Novo Selo and Oryahovo, two centimetres at Nikopol and one centimetre at Ruse. The level remained unchanged at Svishtov and fell by two centimetres at Silistra.

At Ruse, the river stood at minus 123 centimetres relative to the conventional zero mark. It is forecast to rise by another three centimetres over the next two days.

According to the Ruse River Supervision Directorate of the Maritime Administration Executive Agency, no vessels have run aground inside or outside the navigation channel over the past 24 hours.

The hydrological situation remains difficult, and all draught restrictions for vessels remain in force along the entire Bulgarian stretch of the river.
