Commenting on the 2026 budget in Parliament’s lobby on Friday, Morality, Unity, Honour (MECh) leader Radostin Vasilev said that young doctors will not receive the remuneration they were expecting. "When the budgets are put through Parliament, you will see the true face of hypocrisy," Vasilev told reporters.

He added that while "people cannot be satisfied with an adjustment of BGN 20 to the minimum wage," "employers seem much more content with that."

On Thursday, GERB-UDF Deputy Floor Leader Denitsa Sacheva said that the Joint Governance Council had agreed that the minimum wage will be set at EUR 620, an increase from the previously announced EUR 605.

Vasilev criticized what he called the "trial balloon" tactics of GERB leader Boyko Borissov. "He leaks something and once he sees the reaction of the public, he makes adjustments," the MECh leader said.

He went on to comment on the alleged misconduct by Velichie MPs, which MECh reported on Thursday. "The issue was discussed by [Parliament's] presiding body today. It was decided that they will review [the case], and a response will be needed," Vasilev said. In his words, parliamentary groups have a few days to examine the alerts before deciding whether to refer the matter to the Central Election Commission.

The MECh leader said that there had been no reaction from Velichie.

"We have not been informed about what happened to the alerts submitted to the Chair of Parliament," he added.
