site.btaNigerian Delegation Gets Acquainted with Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute's Activity

The Diplomatic Institute with the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed a delegation from Nigeria here on Thursday, the Diplomatic Institute said on Facebook. The delegation is in Bulgaria for a week-long study visit of participants in the 47th course for senior officials of the Nigerian state administration, organised by the National Institute for Political and Strategic Studies.

The meeting was attended by Yanko Yordanov, Acting Director of the Situation Centre Directorate at the Foreign Ministry, and Silvana Tsokova, head of the Public Activities and Cooperation Department at the Diplomatic Institute. The delegation was accompanied by Francisca Unekwu Jomomoh, Chargé d'Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Bucharest, also accredited to Bulgaria.

Tsokova welcomed the delegation and presented the history, functions and main areas of activity of the Diplomatic Institute – training programmes, international cooperation and exchange of experience and expertise. Yordanov shared with the participants his experience as Bulgarian Ambassador to Nigeria. He presented the history and current state of bilateral relations, with an emphasis on the economic aspects of their development.

During the conversation, topics of common interest were discussed, as well as opportunities for joint projects and future partnerships. The meeting took place in a spirit of openness and understanding, with a willingness to build on bilateral relations, the Diplomatic Institute said.
