site.btaMusic, Theatre, and Literature Shine on Day Eight of Apollonia

The Thursday morning began with the latest edition of the talks “The Price of Success,” this time dedicated to the rock bands B.T.R. and Ahat. They spoke about the challenges on their road to the big stage, how they came together to perform, and what they are planning for the future.
The evening program opened at the Art Gallery, where Izabel Shopova presented her book “K as in Korea.” A little later, on the stage of the Father Paisiy community center, the actors from Theatre 199 “Valentin Stoychev” performed the play “The Last Night of Socrates.”
At the Art Gallery, Radina Chervenova’s debut novel “Before I Existed” was introduced, while the Archaeological Museum hosted a concert by pianist Emanuil Ivanov.
Speaking to BTA, Chervenova shared that she very much wishes to publish a new book, but the high expectations already placed on her could delay the release of her next work.
The Summer Cinema hosted the screening of Magdelena Ilieva’s film “Package Eternity.” The evening concluded at the Apollonia Amphitheatre, where The Foundation, together with the orchestra and choir of the Plovdiv State Opera and soloists Slavin Slavchev and Vera Girginova, presented the project “A Night at the Opera with the Music of Queen.” They performed 20 of the legendary British band’s most beloved songs.
The Apollonia Festival of Arts has been held annually since 1984. It is organized by the Apollonia Foundation, established in 1991. Each year, the festival's stages in Sozopol attract hundreds of artists and thousands of art lovers from Bulgaria and around the world. The event aims both to preserve Bulgaria’s cultural traditions and to support new talents across various forms of art. This year’s programme features over 70 events spanning music, theatre, literature, cinema, and visual arts.
BTA is the media partner of the event.
