Odesa is under drone attack, loud explosions echoed in the city, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov reported on the Telegram app on Friday. More than 8 drones attacked in different parts of the Ukrainian Black Sea city, local Telegram channels further informed.

According to their information, smoke can be seen in the sky, it is possible that targets have been hit.

Local authorities urged residents to immediately take shelter in bomb shelters.

The alert was declared at 09.20 a.m. 

The Bulgarian community in the Odesa region numbers over 150,000 people, making it the third-largest ethnic group in the area, according to Ukraine’s 2001 census. Within the city of Odessa itself, an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 ethnic Bulgarians reside. The largest concentrations of Bulgarians are found in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
