site.bta121 Romanian Citizens Return from Armed Conflict Zone in Middle East

A total of 121 Romanian citizens returned to Romania Friday morning from the area of the armed conflict in the Middle East, following government-coordinated efforts led by interim Prime Minister Catalin Predoiu, the Romanian Government said in a press release.

“121 individuals arrived in Bucharest this morning, and another 37 are en route to Romania and expected to arrive in the coming hours,” the statement reads. The evacuation was carried out by air, with military aircraft provided by the Romanian Ministry of National Defence and the Romanian Air Force.

The evacuation and repatriation were carried out entirely using Romania’s own financial resources.
