Sustainable finance and the circular economy are at the focus of discussions on the third day of the five-day Green Transition Forum 5.0: Powering Up Competitiveness and Innovation in Central and Eastern European Region, which began on Monday in Sofia. Debates in the first two days focused on the topics of economic transformation, competitiveness, energy security and geopolitics. Organizers of the event are Green Transition Forum and Dir.bg. BTA is a media partner of the event.

Among the participants in the forum dedicated to the green transition are European commissioners, ministers, MEPs, a Nobel Prize winner and managers of global corporations.

Various topics related to the green transition, including competitiveness, energy security, sustainable financing, clean industry, digitalization, blue and circular economy, cybersecurity, smart cities, agrostrategies and innovations, and female entrepreneurship are on the agenda.

Among the topics on Wednesday are issues related to investments and strategies linked to environment, social and governance factors. MP Delyan Dobrev, and Iliyana Tsanova, Deputy Director General of DG Budget at the European Commission, will outline the ways to attract private capital and develop new financial products needed for green growth. Some of the speakers in Wednesday's discussions are Ivan Ivanov, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Kata Tutto, President of the European Committee of the Regions, Manuela Naessl, Head of Bulgaria of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Vassil Terziev, Mayor of Sofia Municipality, and many others.
