Dr Milena Kehayova, Director of the Secretariat of the Regional Council of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) in Razgrad, said the BRC and the Turkish Red Crescent had provided food parcels to people in need in Razgrad Region. This aid has been offered for several years in a row thanks to a cooperation agreement between the two national organizations, which are conducting a solidarity campaign including food assistance with products purchased by the Turkish Red Crescent.
The food parcels, branded with the logos and symbols of both organizations, were delivered to 17 institutions by partners, staff and volunteers of BRC Razgrad. These parcels will support over 2,180 vulnerable individuals in the region, said Kehayova.
The campaign in Razgrad Region was launched by Nadir Tulek, Head of the Europe and Americas Department of the Turkish Red Crescent, Ahmet Pehlivan head of the YeshilayBulgaria Association, and Milena Kehayova.
Last year, 200 extremely vulnerable families in Razgrad Region were supported with food parcels by the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent.
