Security Services Brief President after Israel-Iran Escalation, Tell Him No Immediate Threat Exists for Bulgaria

Head of State Rumen Radev held a consultative meeting on Friday to assess possible risks and threats to national security due to the complicated security environment in the Middle East. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry, State Intelligence Agency, Defence Intelligence Service, State Agency for National Security, said the President's Press Secretariat. After reports from the security services and the ministries were heard, a conclusion was drawn that currently there is no direct threat to Bulgaria's security.

Preventive measures to increase security in the event of an escalation of the crisis were discussed, as well as possible approaches to evacuate Bulgarian citizens from the Middle East if necessary.
