Bulgarian athletes won eight bronze medals at the international under-17 badminton tournament in Bialystok, Poland on Sunday.

Georgi Ruptsov and Kaloyan Velikov both took third place in the under-17 singles events. Ruptsov teamed up with Stiliyan Nanovski to win bronze in the boys’ doubles, and he also joined Elena Popivanova to reach the mixed doubles semi-finals.

Top seeds Popivanova and Viktoriya Popova took bronze in the girls’ doubles after losing in the semifinals to Varvara Poperezhai and Ahata Ryshtovska from Ukraine. The match lasted 45 minutes and ended with scores of 15:21, 21:18, 19:21.

Gergana Pavlova and Raia Pashova won the bronze medal in the women's doubles on Saturday. The Bulgarian pair advanced to the semi-finals, where they were defeated 9-21, 11-21 by the top seeds, Agathe Cuevas and Kathell Desmots-Chacun of France, in a match that lasted 26 minutes.
