Hiking conditions in the higher elevations of the mountains are poor on Wednesday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told the Bulgarian News Agency.

The weather is cloudy and foggy, with moderate to strong winds in many areas. New patches of snow cover have formed. 

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, there will be variable cloudiness, often significant at noon and in the afternoon. Short, scattered rain showers are expected, with snow above 2,200 metres. Highs: around 11C at 1,200 metres and around 5C at 2,000 metres.
