A protest note was delivered by Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Serbia Petko Doykov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia in response to acts of vandalism against Bulgarian military monuments in Belgrade and Nis, the Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade wrote on its Facebook page on Friday.

The Embassy reported that on May 12 and May 15, Bulgarian authorities discovered that the Icy Wall ossuary monument in Nis and the monument at the Bulgarian military cemetery in Belgrade had been vandalized, with sections of both monuments removed and damaged.

Doykov expressed concern and called on the relevant Serbian authorities to investigate the incident, hold those responsible accountable, and take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
