National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova congratulated the newly elected head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV.
In a congratulatory address to Pope Leo XIV, she expressed her confidence that in his activities as the spiritual leader of the largest Christian community in the world he will always be met with sincere friendly support from the Bulgarian people. “I am sure that your election as the new pope will be greeted with joy by all representatives of the Catholic community in Bulgaria,” said Kiselova.
"I believe that the trust of the majority of the cardinals who participated in the conclave in electing you as the 267th Pope is an expression of their high appreciation for your undeniable spiritual and moral qualities. I am sure that they, as well as the charitable legacy from your predecessor, Pope Francis, will help you cope with the difficult and responsible mission with which your brothers in vocation have honoured you," said the National Assembly Chair. Kiselova wished Pope Leo XIV many years of good health and skillful guidance of his large flock throughout the world.
