Conditions for hiking in the mountains are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA on Saturday.

The MRS pointed out that there are still snow drifts at altitudes above 2,000 metres and advised hikers to traverse such routes with caution.

Facilities for ski tourism in the mountains are not working.

According to the weather forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in the mountains it will be mostly sunny, in the afternoon cumulus and cumulus-rain clouds will develop, but only in places in the massifs in Western and Central Bulgaria will rain and thunder. The maximum temperature at 1,200 metres will be around 16C, at 2,000 metres around 8C.
