Magdalena Lazarova was appointed Deputy Prosecutor General at the Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office by a unanimous decision of the Prosecutors Chamber of the Supreme Judicial Council. She was nominated by acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov on April 25.
Until now Lazarova was a judge at the Sofia Appellate Court.
On April 16, Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva tendered her resignation. On April 29, the Prosecutors Chamber reinstated her as a judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation.
