Deputy Prosecutor General Elena Karakasheva has resigned. This transpired on Wednesday during a meeting of the Prosecutorial College of the Supreme Judicial Council.
Karakasheva tendered her resignation on April 16. On Wednesday, the college dismissed her from the post as of May 12.
She has asked to return as a judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation.
No motives for Karakasheva's resignation were reported.
