The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to increase funding for the municipal administration, cultural institutions and assistant educators. With the proposed changes, the total increase in funding for the municipal administrations for 2024, compared to 2023, reaches 9.8%.

The decision of the Council of Ministers additionally increases the standard for nursery and kindergarten groups, which provides an increase in minimum basic monthly salaries for non-teaching assistant educators. 

The funds required for the increase in the standard amount to BGN 16.7 million.

In the field of culture, the basic standards for the financing of the State museums, art galleries and the National Library, as well as the standards for municipal museums, art galleries and libraries of a regional nature are additionally increased by 18.2%. The total funds required for the increase amount to BGN 23.1 million and are provided on account of the adopted expenditure under the central budget for 2024.
