The retirees-to-workers ratio in Romania is 8-10 but there are regional variations, according to official statistics published on March 14.

In Bulgaria, there is 7.1 retirees per 10 workers.

In Bucharest and Ilfov county, there are four retirees for every ten workers, while in Teleorman county the ratio is 15 retirees to 10 workers and in Vaslui 14 to 10.

The average state pension varies considerably across the territory, with a difference between the minimum and maximum amount of LEI 1,081 (BGN 432).

Statistics shows that the nominal value of the average pension in Romania increased by 13.9% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year. The inflation rate is as much.
