site.btaSpecial Operations Forces in Europe Trojan Footprint - 24 Premier Exercise Begins in Tsrancha

The largest exercise of the NATO Special Operations Command in Europe Trojan Footprint - 24 was launched at the Tsrancha Specialized Training Complex (STC) of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) of the Bulgarian Army. The exercise will take place until March 15 on the territories of Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania and Germany, where the special operations forces component command is positioned for the exercise, the JSOC said on Thursday. 

Trojan Footprint - 24 is a major exercise of the Special Operations Command in Europe. It is focused on improving the ability of special forces to counter a wide range of threats, and on increasing integration with conventional forces and improving the interoperability of NATO countries, the JSOC said. The Trojan Footprint enhances military readiness, improves trust and develops long-lasting relationships that promote peace and stability across Europe, Colonel Todor Dakov, Commander of the Third Special Forces Group, said in his address. He said the exercise will challenge the capabilities and require maximum effort from the troops.

Around 100 servicemen, military equipment and weapons from the JSOC and about 50 servicemen from the United States and Romania are involved on the territory of Bulgaria.
