site.btaPM Denkov, Deputy PM Gabriel Awarded Darik Radio's Politicians of the Year Award

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel received the award Politicians of the Year 2023 award, presented by Darik Radio the Government press service said. 

Every year, the media recognizes leaders who had the greatest impact on the development of political life in Bulgaria over the previous past year. 

"The most valuable thing I see in this award is that there are two names on it. We need to change the political culture, to show that results are obtained through dialogue, searching for common solutions and arguments. We are trying to set a personal example in this regard," Prime Minister Denkov said. 

He noted the successes for Bulgaria that the government has managed to realize so far thanks to its teamwork. This is Denkov's first award as a politician, after he had been recognized with a number of prestigious awards for his achievements in his scientific career, the press release said. 

"This award is a recognition and responsibility for me. Academician Denkov and I show how we can move forward with dialogue and cooperation, by defending a vision of a strong, active and trusted Bulgaria," Gabriel said. It is also a responsibility to continue to give security, stability, consistency and to be purposeful in our actions so that the people of Bulgaria and our partners feel that they can trust us and that what is happening in the country is for the people and gives hope for the future," she said. 

The award was presented by Darik Radio's Executive Director, Hristo Hristov.
