The NGO Federation of Trade Unions with the Romanian Ministry of Labour (Federatia Sindicatelor din Ministerul Muncii) posted on their Facebook page that they will launch a general strike on November 27, if their demands for better working conditions and higher wages are not addressed. The first stage of protest has been announced for Wednesday, when the Federation will organize a two-hour warning strike.

The discontent is also aimed at staff shortages and non-payment of overtime. The unionists felt it necessary to resort to this form of protest to draw attention to "problems communicated countless times to the political class and left unresolved".

The post reads: "We warn that in the absence of immediate solutions, we will be forced to launch a general strike on November 27, 2023. In the context of the general strike, we would like to inform you that work in all our institutions will be stopped indefinitely. Unfortunately, the way the political class has understood how to relate to the various social categories, the measures adopted, as well as the measures not taken, the disgraceful attitude, have all led to this radical decision - STRIKE".
