Bulgaria's Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov will pay a visit to Berlin, where he will hold a meeting with Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Wednesday evening. The discussions will focus on Schengen-related matters, the Western Balkans, the war in Ukraine, and an upcoming high-level meetings in the Spanish city of Granada, the Government Information Service reported Wednesday.

On October 5, Denkov will take part in the third meeting of the European Political Community in Granada. The forum will bring together leaders from all across the continent who will discuss how to make Europe more resilient, prosperous, and geostrategic.

On October 6, Denkov will participate in an informal European Council meeting. EU leaders will launch discussions on priorities for the years ahead. The discussions will help prepare the EU’s next strategic agenda, a five-year policy plan to equip the EU with general political guidelines and directions.

Prime Minister Denkov will discuss the topic of Bulgaria's and Romania's entry in Schengen also with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer. They will meet in Vienna on October 24. Denkov's visit to Austria, scheduled for October 4, has been postponed due to Chancellor Nehammer's illness, the Government Information Service reported.
