An attempt at smuggling a large quantity or arms into Bulgaria was prevented in Turkiye's Edirne Province, the Turkish news website Haberler reported Thursday. During a check with a trained dog of a heavy duty truck headed to Bulgaria, the police found 50 pistols, 4 semi-automatic machine-guns, and 50 cartridge clips.
The driver, A. D. of an unspecified nationality, has been detained. An investigation is underway.
