Romanian General Staff of Defence held a virtual meeting with officials of the districts of Brăila, Constanța, Galați, and Tulcea prompted by the more frequent Russian attacks on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube.

In a press release, Romania’s Defence Ministry stated that the aim of the meeting was to optimize inter-institutional coordination in the context of the security situation conditioned by the development of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The meeting’s agenda included an overview of the current security situation and the army's public communication process; topics related to the defensive preparation of the country’s population, economy and territory, as well as the legal responsibilities of various institutions in the national defence system.

A drone strike was carried out on the night of Monday to Tuesday on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube. As a result of the Russian shelling, the ferry crossing linking the Ukrainian village of Orlivka with the Romanian town of Isaccea was damaged.
