The National Assembly Thursday adopted revisions to the heads and members of parliamentary committees. The MPs elected new chairs of the committees on Tourism, on Policies for Bulgarians Abroad, and on Direct Participation of Citizens and Interaction with Civil Society.
Erten Anisova of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) will head the Tourism Committee. Until now, she was deputy chair of the Legal Affairs Committee and member of the Constitutional Affairs Committee, where her place will be taken by Andzhey Dzhandev.
Valentin Tonchev of the MRF will chair the Committee on Direct Participation of Citizens and Interaction with Civil Society.
Tsvetan Enchev of the MRF will head the Committee on Policies for Bulgarians Abroad.
Angel Georgiev of Vazrazhdane voiced concern over the MRF receiving the leadership of the Committee on Policies for Bulgarians Abroad, which looks like yet another political deal among the power holders to serve the MRF's interests.
Peter Nikolov (GERB-UDF) was elected Deputy Chair of the Culture and Media Committee and Lyuben Dilov, member of the Committee. Antoaneta Tsoneva will replace Rositsa Pandova-Yovkova as member.
The MPs moved Boyko Rashkov of Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria to the Committee for Control of Security Services, Application and Use of Special Intelligence Means and Data Access under the Electronic Communications Act. His vacated position as member of the Committee on Prevention and Counteraction of Corruption will be taken by Dimitrina Hadzhieva-Nedina.
Desislava Trifonova (GERB-UDF) was elected Secretary of the 49th National Assembly. The position was vacated after Toma Bikov was elected Chairman of the Culture and Media Committee last week.
