Bulgaria and its folklore were showcased in Chicago during the Festival of Cultures - Mount Prospect Celebration of Cultures 2023, the Bulgarica Cultural Center said.

The event took place in Mount Prospect on 26 August, when an audience of different nationalities filled the park.

For the fourth time Bulgaria was represented by Bulgarica Dance School and Vivanov-Chicago Dance Formation. Sonia Membreno was a special guest at the event and sang several Bulgarian folk songs.

The Mount Prospect Celebration of Cultures aims to unite communities in the area by showcasing their lifestyles, traditions and cultural heritage. Visitors can enjoy a variety of foods representing different regions as well as cultural booths with authentic items and clothing.
