site.btaNorth Macedonia Interior Minister: We Have Solved 372 Crimes in Fight Against Drug Trafficking in First Half of 2023

Interior Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Oliver Spasovski said that in the first half of 2023, a total of 372 crimes were solved and 440 criminals were arrested in the country in the fight against illegal drug trafficking, MIA reported on Tuesday.

A post on Spasovski's official Facebook account summarized the results for the first 6 months of 2023 and said seizures of cocaine, amphetamines and ecstasy had increased. A total of 286 kg of marijuana, 7 kg of amphetamines, 3 kg of cocaine and 3,532 ecstasy tablets were seized.

"An amphetamine production laboratory was uncovered, three marijuana transfers were intercepted, five criminal groups were disrupted and an international raid was carried out in Greece during which 104.6 kg of cocaine was seized", Spasovski said, stressing that "we continue to be accountable and transparent."
