The Romanian Ministry of Environment reported Wednesday in its daily bulletin on the state of the waters that there was no evidence of pollution in the Romanian Black Sea area. No dangerous or unusual phenomena were observed, the Romanian Ministry of Environment reported.

The Ministry is in constant exchange of information with the Ukrainian, Moldovan and Bulgarian authorities on potential pollution of the Black Sea waters.

"After the destruction of the Dnipro dam, there were no exceedances of any of the tested indicators," said the Tulcea Sanitary-Veterinary and Food Directorate Director, Mitika Tukila, quoted by Agerpress. He pointed out that samples have been taken from Sulina and Saint George and are to be taken from Gura Portitei in the coming days.

The public health authorities in Constanta are testing the water twice daily even though it will be several months before pollutants discharged in the Dnipro river reach the Romanian coast, diluted, according to Radio Free Europe. The water is tested for E.coli, enterococci and salmonella, and the results are published on Internet.
