Parliament ratified Wednesday the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on Police Cooperation in Southeast Europe on the automated exchange of DNA data, fingerprint data and motor vehicle registration data, the Agreement implementing the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on Police Cooperation in Southeast Europe on the automated exchange of DNA data, fingerprint data and motor vehicle registration data and the Protocol amending the Agreement between the Parties to the Convention on the automated exchange of DNA data, fingerprint data and motor vehicle registration data (the Prum Agreement).
The main objective of the Contracting Parties is to strengthen, develop and intensify cooperation between the competent national authorities to counter threats to public security and public order, as well as with regard to the prevention, detection and investigation of criminal acts, the supporting arguments state.
