site.btaErdogan: The Century of Turkiye Shall Step on Reforms

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pledged Tuesday that the Century of Turkiye shall be based on reforms, Turkish media reported.

The government has set itself specific goals and will firmly implement the Century of Turkiye by following the path of the people. "We will work wholeheartedly in the next five years, as we have done in the past 21 years, and we will never give up," the head of State said in his message on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-al Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, CNN-Turk noted.

Last year, Erdogan presented his vision of the Century of Turkiye featuring the programme of his pro-Islamist Justice and Development Party for the second century of the republic.

The head of state also recalled that Turkiye successfully held the parliamentary and presidential elections in May, and that election turnout was nearly 90%.

The winner of the elections is indisputably all Turkiye, with its 85 million citizens, he said.

The President also referred to the government's efforts with regard to the reconstruction of the eleven southern Turkish provinces that were severely affected by the devastating earthquakes in February that claimed the lives of more than 50,000 people.

Work on construction and restoration in the earthquake-hit area continues at full speed, Erdogan said, recalling that the government is determined to complete a total of 650,000 "earthquake" houses, 319,000 of which within the first year, as promised to the nation.
