The National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) is holding a conclusive conference on municipal term 2019-2023 on June 19 and 20 in the mountain resort of Pamporovo, the NAMRB said on Monday. President Rumen Radev and Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov are expected to take part in the forum, related to assessment of the successes, obstacles and lessons learnt by local authorities, as well as the challenges in times of global transformation.
Mayors and municipal council chairs from across the country will participate in the conference, which will feature the experiences of municipal leaders at the end of a term with many challenges, including covid pandemic, natural disasters, and inflation.
On the second day, the Secretary General of the Union of Municipalities of Turkiye is scheduled to take part in the forum and present the joint efforts of the state and local authorities to restore the regions hit by the earthquakes.
The mayors of Smolyan, Chepelare and Zlatograd municipalities will be the symbolic hosts of the NAMRB conclusive conference.
