site.btaInterior Minister Kalin Stoyanov Indicates 3 Main Priorities upon Taking Office


Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov took office at his official inauguration ceremony at the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday. He replaced caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev.
As his priorities, Stoyanov indicated the fight against road accidents, countering street crime and crime in small settlements, as well as dealing with migration pressure.
The Minister added that he would do his best to keep the ministry "away from the political scene, away from all the inter-institutional, interpersonal and inter-political struggles that have been raging for some time in this country".
Stoyanov pointed out that his professional path was entirely within the Ministry of the Interior, stating that he knows the problems of the employees in the Ministry. "I am one of you," he addressed them.
Demerdzhiev stated that with great efforts, the Interior Ministry of the managed to deal with the heavy migrant pressure, which, he said, continues to grow and will be a challenge for the new Minister.
