The Bulgarian Orthodox community in Istanbul marked the day of the holy and glorious Martyr Charalampos, who is revered among Bulgarians not only for his intercession before God for the sick and suffering, but also for being the patron saint of bees and beekeepers.
The feast day of Saint Charalampos is commemorated on February 10.
Archimadrite Charalampy officiated at a memorial service for those lost in the devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria. The community prayed for the healing and health of the victims in the disaster, the Bulgarian Consulate general in Istanbul said.
