The Bulgarian naval research vessel Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodii (NAVAL RSV 421) is sailing to Cabo Blanco at an average speed of 8 knots.

RSV 421 left the Mar del Plata Naval Base on February 5 at 1800 hrs local time (2300 hrs Bulgarian time). The Argentinian port was the second stopover on her historic first voyage to the Bulgarian Antarctic base on Livingston Island.

At the Argentinian port, the ship welcomed on board logistical workers and scientists from the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute. Major construction work will be carried out at the Bulgarian Antarctic base, which includes the building of a new scientific laboratory.

BTA's Daily News editor Konstantin Karagyozov is the only member of the media who is travelling on board the ship to Livingston Island and back, who will cover the Bulgarian expedition on site throughout the stay in Antarctica.

All media outlets can use the Bulgaria-Antarctica BTA's Log for free.
