State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission Postpones Final Decision on Prices of Electricity
until Wednesday

Sofia, September 30 (BTA) - The State Energy and Water
Regulatory Commission did not manage to make a decision about
the prices of electricity, effective as of October 1, during its
closed door meeting on Tuesday, the regulator told BTA.

SEWRC will make the final decision during another closed door
meeting on Wednesday. The proposed price increase by SEWRC is by
close to ten per cent for household consumers and by 2.2 per
cent for companies on the free market, connected to the
electricity distribution network's medium voltage, and 1.6 per
cent for those on high voltage.

Professional organizations and industrial enterprises oppose the
price increase on the free market. Citizens protested outside
SEWRC's building throughout the day on Tuesday. Protests against
the electricity price hike are expected to take place on
Wednesday as well.
